On Walking, Perception, Orientation, Imagination and Re-mapping

In recent years, artistic fieldwork has become an important part of my practice. I use methods and experiments that tend to support the dynamics of interaction in and with scapes as opposed to a notion of art as permanent or fixed.

I would like to share my approach and methods in a 2 1/2 day workshop in Vienna.

Although the workshop will take a multi-sensory approach, I would like to focus on listening as a form of orientation to re-map our understanding of geological, geographical, social, cultural as well as historical indicators and to challenge narratives that adhere to current value systems.

We will spend a day in an area near the Danube and its surrounding scapes collecting materials, intangibles and impressions to bring into our space for assembly. Together we will reflect on what we have observed and find ways to let it grow into the space. In the process, an interdisciplinary, multidimensional, ever-expanding and/or shrinking scenery may emerge.

On the last day of the workshop we will open it to visitors.

FEE
15 - 20 €
The fee is used to fund materials and space. I would like you to choose an amount between 15 and 20 Eur that best fits your income and circumstances; if you have a low income and cannot afford the fee but would like to participate, please do not hesitate to contact me.
